IQTL, I.P. Participates in "U.S.–ASEAN ROUNDTABLE" Best Practices in Implementing and Aligning Cybersecurity Standards and Conformance in ASEAN

Jakarta 2-3 December 2025 Institute for the Quality of Timor-Leste, I.P. (IQTL, I.P) participation of Board Members (Member II and Member III) in the international activity "U.S.–ASEAN Roundtable: Best Practices in Implementing and Aligning Cybersecurity Standards and Conformance in ASEAN", held in Jakarta. Participation of IQTL,I.P Board of Directors members, Member II Mr. Gustavo Maia de Oliveira and Member III Mr. Tolentino Mariano F. Guterres, represents Timor-Leste's commitment to gather new knowledge and best practices relevant to: Alignment of cybersecurity standards in the ASEAN region; Conservation of digital security regulations and compliance mechanisms; Strengthening national capacity in risk assessment, technical audits, and cyber system monitoring; Strategic Cooperation between Timor-Leste, ASEAN, and the United States. Best practices from the USA, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework; Initiatives to harmonize cybersecurity standards and guidelines in ASEAN; Mechanisms to enhance mutual trust across public and private sectors; Importance of developing standards, metrology, accreditation, and conformity assessment for cybersecurity area. "In a digital world that continues to evolve, harmonization of cybersecurity standards will be a key factor for national resilience. Participation in this Roundtable gives us the opportunity to learn from regional and global best practices, and to prepare Timor-Leste for ASEAN integration," IQTL, I.P. will continue to actively contribute to regional and international platforms, Participation in this U.S.–ASEAN Roundtable reinforces the institutional vision to improve standards, compliance, and innovative work that supports the development of digital security and the national economy.
